CSK vs RCB IPL 2025 Match Highlights

Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a stunning all-round performance to secure a dominant 50-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 on Friday (March 28). This historic win ended their 17-year losing streak at Chepauk, a record that had haunted them since the inaugural 2008 season.

CSK vs RCB IPL 2025 Match Highlights

RCB captain Rajat Patidar led from the front with a well-crafted half-century, while fiery spells from Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal dismantled CSK’s batting lineup, leaving the home crowd in shock.

After winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings opted to bowl first, hoping to put pressure on RCB by chasing a target. However, Patidar’s composed fifty, coupled with aggressive contributions from the top order and a late flourish from Tim David, propelled RCB to an imposing total of 196—their third-highest score at this venue.

CSK found a brief moment of hope through Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad, who impressed with figures of 3/36. His crucial wickets—removing Philip Salt, Virat Kohli, and Liam Livingstone—momentarily slowed RCB’s momentum.

Chasing 197, CSK needed a strong start, but their innings unraveled early. Josh Hazlewood struck twice in his first over, removing Rahul Tripathi and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, reducing CSK to 8/2. The situation worsened when Bhuvneshwar Kumar got into the action, leaving CSK struggling at 30/3 by the end of the powerplay.

Rachin Ravindra put up a fight with a valiant 41 off 31 balls, trying to steady the innings. But RCB’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure, with Yash Dayal grabbing two wickets in a single over and Livingstone chipping in as well, pushing CSK to a miserable 99/7.

The only silver lining for CSK fans came in the form of MS Dhoni’s late fireworks—two consecutive sixes that provided a moment of cheer in an otherwise forgettable match. However, it was far too little, too late, as CSK fell short by 50 runs, marking a resounding victory for RCB.
